Lane Kim

Pictures of Lane

Lane has been Rory's best friend since elementary school and they still spend a lot of time together. She has an enormous interest in music and is the drummer of a band. Because of her very controlling and strictly religious mother, Lane has to hide the fact that she is dating the band's guitarrist, Dave and even the fact that she plays in the band herself. Being brought up in this christian Korean family, Lane has developed sophisticated methods of hiding things and making up stories for her mother. For example, she is hiding her CDs and make-up under the floorboards in her room.

Keiko Agena

Most familiar from her recurring role on The WB drama Felicity, Keiko (pronounced Kay-ko) Agena stars in Gilmore Girls as Rory's (Alexis Bledel) best friend. Agena was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she lived until she was 17. She made her acting debut at the age of 10 with a small part in the play The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. She enjoyed the experience so much that she decided to continue performing. Her parents were very supportive, with her mother taking her to auditions and helping her memorize lines for roles in community theater productions.

After high school, Agena studied drama at Whitman College in Washington State. She came to Los Angeles during the summer break after her first year and has been working steadily in theater, television and film ever since. Her very first professional audition resulted in a guest spot on the television series Renegade. Since then, Agena has guest-starred on ER and Sister, Sister, as well as appearing on Beverly Hills, 90210. She has also appeared on the Kids' WB! series The Nightmare Room. Agena also starred in the independent feature film Hundred Percent, an Asian-American drama featuring the interwoven stories of three couples.

Offscreen, she was a member of the Incline theater company, and is currently very involved in hereandnow, an Asian-American acting company that tours all over the country with a show comprised entirely of original pieces. She also enjoys riding her motorcycle. She currently resides in Los Angeles, Calif. with her two cats, Seth and Ben.
